Hi, I’m Carrie Hopkins-Doubts. I am many things:

I am a mother.

I am an ex-wife and a widow.

I am a musician, a writer, a lover of beauty.

I am a coach, a compassionate Presence, a way shower for the journey from heartbroken to wholeheartedly participating in life.

I am a teacher and I am constantly learning.

I am a Soul having a human experience.

I am all of this and more.

I’ve also had my share of loss and grief. I’ve been fired. I’ve been paralyzed by fear. I’ve made mistakes, let myself down, created messes I then needed to clean up. I’ve faced rejection, being broke, addictions, all the s*&@! of being an imperfect human.

I’ve had to reinvent myself over and over as I’ve gone from one chapter of my life to the next. It’s hard to do that. I know how lost these big life transitions can make you feel. I’ve been there and I’ve found my way through all of them to the other side. I’ve learned to let life talk to me and I listen.

Sudden change - like the death of a life partner, a parent, a marriage, a career - can upend everything we think about life in an instant.

One mistake I see people making when they are going through a big life transition is they try to go through it alone. There is a big difference between letting these life changes completely derail you and allowing them to be a catalyst for creating a new beginning that aligns with your purpose.

It is my joy to support others in finding their clarity, freedom, and purpose.

Education & Experience

In 1995, I earned a Master of Arts in Spiritual Psychology with an Emphasis in Consciousness, Health, and Healing from the University of Santa Monica. I served as the Director of Education Administration and Faculty Development at USM for nearly 20 years and as a faculty member in the Spiritual Psychology Program for 10+ years.

I earned a professional coaching certification from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). I am also a Certified Grief Counselor by the American Academy of Grief Counseling. I hold the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential with International Coaching Federation (ICF) and am a Certified Transformational Presence Coach through the Center for Transformational Presence Coaching and Leadership.

I founded Life’s Next Chapter Coaching in 2013. Why? I knew that my purpose as a coach would be to support people during difficult life transitions.

As a Spiritual Resilience Coach, I’m here now to take this work to the next level. It’s not enough to simply survive grief and loss. I help people to connect with the truth of who they are and create their life’s next chapter of joy, freedom, and purpose.

“Just over 6 years ago, I began coaching with Carrie. We have been working together since then, and it is my intention to continue this coaching relationship forever. I know that each time we meet, I will have the unique opportunity to share whatever is happening in my life—my joys as well as my troubles. I treasure and look forward to each and every session.

I am always aware of her skill as a listener, questioner, guide and support. I feel her loving presence as I laugh, cry, vent, and freely express myself and my emotions. As I write this testimonial, my eyes fill with tears.

I am always aware of her loving presence with me. I am inspired by her coaching skill, her ability to have me physically change my perspective, as well as her ability to ask just the right questions. I am impressed by her wealth of knowledge and recommendation of many resources to help me move forward.”

Carrie has been recognized as one of the Top Transformational Coaches by Coach Foundation.

“Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive  is too small for you.”
